Deaconess Letter, The Prayer Calendar and Calendar of Important Events-Birthdays and Memory Texts 1962-1965

This series comprise two in-house publications of the Lutheran Deaconess House and School (LDHS). Deaconess Letter and The Prayer Calendar and Calendar of Important Events-Birthdays and Memory Texts were two publications disseminated to deaconesses and deaconess students. These records date from 1962-1965. The Deaconess Letter first appeared in September 1962. For 1962-1963, it is numbered consecutively. Numbering starts over with the first 1964 letter and continues consecutively through the November 1965 issue. The September 1963 issue, the number 8 letter, is listed incorrectly as number 9. The January 1964 issue incorrectly numbered and should be number 13. Both the executive secretary of the BCECV and the secretary of deaconess work wrote a May 1964 letter. The letter for Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday, also includes a letter to deaconess students. Copies of the prayer calendar are complete. They are a continuation of ULCA 60/11/1 and continue with the LDHS successor, Deaconess Community of the LCA, in series LCA 108/2/10/1 and LCA 108/3/7/3.
